Pioneering company history
Foundation
From a full-service event agency to the leading SaaS platform
MICE Portal was founded in 2000 by Josephine Gräfin von Brühl as a full-service event agency. Just four years later, in 2004, the company developed a digital purchasing solution for companies to make the event process more efficient. In 2008, this solution was further developed and offered as a SaaS platform (Software as a Service) for digital event procurement. Today, the MICE Portal offers an innovative and flexible solution for the planning and organization of events.
Path to success
From modern event planning to climate-conscious pioneer
Since 2010, MICE Portal has continuously developed its digital platform to meet the requirements of modern event planning. With the development of Procure to Pay (P2P) interfaces for third-party providers in 2010, an important step was taken towards integrating external systems. Just one year later, in 2011, the strategic partnership with the payment service provider AirPlus began in order to further optimize payment processes.
In 2016, the company set a strong example in terms of sustainability with the introduction of a CO₂ calculator, which makes it possible to offset events in a climate-conscious way. This was followed in 2020 by the redesign of the Venue Finder and the further development of the search engine to enable users to search for providers even more efficiently.
Pioneer
From successful redesign to digital market leader
A template system was then introduced in 2022, making project creation much easier. The following year, 2023, the user workflow was significantly improved with a new design - with a focus on speed and accessibility. In 2024, MICE Portal further expanded its position as a technological market leader: With the integration of the MEETA-X channel management system and the development of an AI-supported billing solution, digital event planning achieved new optimization potential.
Future goals
From AI agents to intelligent event purchasing
In 2025, the MICE Portal will take the next big step towards intelligent event purchasing: with the development of AI agents, the booking platform will be expanded to include a smart assistance function that proactively supports users in the planning, selection and implementation of events. Further AI-based features to increase user-friendliness are already in the works and underline MICE Portal's commitment to using digital innovations to make event booking and organization even more efficient and convenient.
